Respectful Relationships has been designed to support schools and to promote and model respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence. It was developed in response to the Royal Commission into Domestic Violence.
The teaching and learning materials provided complement our Positive Education model and at BHPS we explicitly teach the Respectful Relationship (RR) curriculum by integrating it with our Character Strengths.
The RR topics include; Emotional Literacy, Personal Strengths, Positive Coping, Problem Solving, Stress Management, Help Seeking, Gender and identity and Positive Gender Relationships.

We also promote Respectful Relationships through days such as our PosEd Day highlighting respect for diversity. Our PosEd leaders came up with the slogan: “Not everyone wants to be what you want to be.”
and each class was shown the following clip that challenges gender assumptions:
